During this time of year many people focus on material gifts, parties, Santa Claus, etc. If Christmas is about the birth of Christ, why are so many Christians caught up in the commercialization aspect of the season? Also, what should believers be doing to put Christmas back in perspective for society or should we continue to relish in the moment of the worldview of Christmas?
Commercialization of christmas is more of a tradition than anything . Although as believers over the years we have come to know that Jesus is the reason for the season. I would say in order to put christmas back into perspective we should focus on giving back to the less fortunate ,in ways such as food clothes or just tending to the NEEDS of the less fortunate .
ReplyDeleteThis Christmas more so than any other, I have been more determined to keep my joy of CHRISTmas up front in my mind & life.In previous years, I have shied away from saying "Merry Christmas" to people I interact with daily; instead saying "Happy Holidays" because it has become politically incorrect to mention anything Christ related.
ReplyDeleteThis year, I am telling everyone I interact with "Merry Christmas" no matter what kind of shocked looks I get.
